Week One

Hello everybody,

I just wanted to say that I had a great time last week in Purdue. The whole Boot Camp was amazing. I mean free food, an interesting topic, and a group of great people, what more could a guy ask for? All of the instructors and facilitators in Purdue did an amazing job. It was a really rewarding experience to see all of the current fluid power research projects first hand. I couldn't have asked for a better start to the summer than the Fluid Power Boot Camp (I never thought I would be saying those words).

My first week at MSOE has been mainly meeting all of the professors/REU advisors and getting to know the campus. All of the professors and advisors here are extremely nice and helpful. I'm sure I will have a ton of questions for them throughout the summer. Going from a University of over 40,000 people to a smaller University like MSOE is quite the change. One thing I do really like that everywhere on campus is within a 5 minute walk of everywhere else on campus.

I am really looking forward to the summer in Milwaukee and diving into my research project. From what I have heard Milwaukee really comes alive in the city and I plan to take full advantage of that. Alyssa if you ever find yourself in Mil this summer, you have a few drinks coming your way on this guy.

This week I am giving a shout out to my fellow alumni Brad. Show those Gophers what a Badger can do!

I hope everyone is well,

Don
