My experience there was great yet confusing. I learned a lot about the ins and outs of hydraulics and pneumatic processes but I am still a little iffy on somethings but I guess that is because I'm new to this. But from the stuff I remembered I learned that using a variable displacement pump in place of a fixed displacement pump can increase the overall efficiency of the of a fluid power process in certain machines but they cost a good amount more than the former. I also learned that you always have a pressure release valve in place in your process for just-in-case and safety reasons.
The one thing that surprised me was the wheel loader that you could control via remote. It was pretty boss! I really enjoyed everyone I met there at the program. I kinda wished we could have stayed a little bit longer and hung out more.
The grad and Ph.D students were off the hook! All of them were helpful and knew what they were talking about and that really helped move things along.
Purdue is a pretty nice school with a good atmosphere and a lot of bars and restaurants just right around the corner. Kind of sounds like heaven in way huh?
Anyway I enjoyed the experience and I hope the others did too.
